Game

  • For an assortment of RL reasons, the mod team is down a couple of people this month; we don't expect this to affect much about the day-to-day running of the game, but apologize for any delays in posts, responses or NPC tags it may be causing.

    Playables

  • The nominations for Homecoming Court have been announced! Go forth and campaign!
  • Bucket-shakers for the Galbadian tsunami relief efforts will be coming to Balamb Garden itself throughout the week in order to request aid.
  • All of the mysterious landmarks popping up in the area remain stubbornly present. To curb the various spooky rumors currently being passed around by many of the cadets, Garden faculty is currently discussing the possibility of an official investigation into the log cabin. Meanwhile, it's reported that a few of the unusually-coloured chocobos from last week have escaped Balamb's new chocobo forest and may be roaming further afield.

    School

  • It is Week 3 of the second trimester. LAN 101 is teaching Old Dollet (French equivalent) this trimester.
  • Don't forget to add your character to the master schedule for CR planning if you haven't already.

    World news

This information can be picked up IC by various means. These could include but are not limited to newspapers and magazines (available in Balamb Town, by subscription, or in the library), word of mouth, NPC BBS posts, and a news ticker on the network (which also relays school news). Feel free at any time to ask us for more details on any news items (this week's or previous weeks') if you'd like them for character discussions!
  • The political situation in Galbadia continues to dominate the media. Major protest marches on Deling City are planned for next week.
  • The flood of school desks in Winhill was joined last week by a junkyard full of weird cars, severely impeding the already anemic cleanup efforts. Transport in the region has ground to a halt, to the dismay of a small but vocal and growing number of locals who wish to abandon the town before the situation can worsen.
  • A number of previously unknown and unmapped remote islands are alleged to have appeared between northeast Galbadia (where the tsunami hit) and Trabia, though none of them have yet been officially confirmed.
  • Some scientists warn that the Timber area may be on the brink of ecological disaster following its partial submersion in a lake. This is not widely reported.
