End of year break

Balamb Garden is on school break through January 19th, but not a particularly relaxing one - Garden has mobilized following pursuit by the Sol Invictus-controlled Galbadia Garden, and will be landing only infrequently until further notice.

SeeD field exam

Starfire's field exam, supervised by Namur (unless there are any other takers), will be posted at some point this month, projected for later in the week; we will link it here and Plurk it when that happens.

School

Year 4, Trimester 1 is scheduled to start on January 20th. The master schedule for this is now live here for CR and plotting purposes.

Cadets sponsored by Ruby, Pearl, and Opal will receive smaller allowances than usual this trimester, Ruby and Pearl significantly so. Those sponsored by Carbuncle, however, receive larger allowances. Should affected cadets talk to administrative staff about it, they'll get only shrugs and responses along the lines of that being what the sponsors sent this term; Garden doesn't control it.

World news

This information can be picked up IC by various means. These could include but are not limited to newspapers and magazines (available in Balamb Town, by subscription, or in the library), word of mouth, NPC BBS posts, and a news ticker on the network (which also relays school news). Feel free at any time to ask us for more details on any news items (this week's or previous weeks') if you'd like them for character discussions!

Despite the latest kerfuffle and Zabala's abovementioned response, Headmaster Cid remains out of office. Edea Kramer has also been difficult to contact this week, although people will have seen her around.

Timber has overthrown Galbadian rule and has set up a temporary town council chaired by the resistance group leaders. The remainder of the Galbadian forces posted in Timber have retreated to Winhill.

Speaking of Winhill, the murderous school desks have posted bail.

Speaking of Galbadia, Sol Invictus has officially declared their unilateral control of the capital (or at least what's left of it) as well as Galbadia Garden.
